Wheelchair accessible Ireland Vacations

Our wheelchair accessible Ireland travel packages are created with the lively Irish culture in mind. Each of our accessible lifestyle vacation packages is tailor made for each traveler to Ireland. All of our wheelchair accessible vacations are created for self-drive by standard rental car or by chauffeur driven accessible van. Self drive accessible vans are not available for hire in Ireland.

All of our wheelchair vacation packages visit Ireland cosmopolitan centers, small towns and many wilderness landscapes. Our nightly entertainment is usually in "smoke-free" pubs surrounded by local musicians. And our meals are all traditional Irish. The main activity of the every day is barrier free sightseeing and activities that meet friendly Irish people.

All of our wheelchair accessible vacations are created for self-drive by standard rental car or by chauffeur driven accessible van. We are not aware of any fully adapted wheelchair accessible rental vans that a person in a wheelchair can rent and operate. Driver adapted vehicles are available for hire with a variety of adaptations including hand controls, infra-red units, and left foot accelerator. There are none we know of for wheelies to operate. For all rentals of wheelchair vans, wheelchair passenger can ride only in the rear compartment. The
Rental vehicles are a Fiat Scudo, a Citroen Dispatch, a Peugeot Expert, a Fiat Doblo, or a Renault Kangoo which we call the Pope Mobile for minimalists. Headroom is normally 56-60 inches and the rear door ramp are to a width of 28 inches.. For more details on rates, email Accessible Journeys
