Our trek into the La Selva Biological Reserve was humid - but exciting. Originally established in 1954 and purchased
in 1968 by the Organization for Tropical Studies, La Selva comprises 3,900 acres of tropical wet forest and averages
over 13 feet! of rainfall. It is one of the most important sites in the world for research on tropical rain forest.
